The veterinarians and specialists Wizoo

The WIZOO Group introduces its selected veterinarians and specialists carefully chosen by Dr. Guénette for their medical and surgical skills. Their exceptional diagnostic accuracy, unconditional dedication and empathy towards animals and their human partners make them exceptional veterinarians.

At Wizoo, preserving the special bond between pet-parents and their pet is sacred and unique. That’s why our medical approach is completely different and unique from traditional veterinary clinics. Initially, a cordial and approachable dialogue is established. The result is a relationship of trust based on your little furry, feathered and scaly friends.

Come and meet the veterinarians and specialists :

DR. SARAH ANNIE GUÉNETTE, DMV, PhD Analgesia and Anesthesia, BSc Zoology
PRESIDENT, Veterinary Group Wizoo
HEAD VETERINARY, Zoo Ecomuseum

Dr. Sarah Annie Guénette graduated from the Université de Montréal in veterinary medicine and from McGill University in zoology in 2004. She is recognized for her entrepreneurial and her progressive vision of veterinary medical practices.

Before starting the Wizoo adventure, she co-founded the Anima Plus network, which by the time she left, included 11 establishments. She also worked as a columnist on TV while assuming the position of medical director at the Ecomuseum Zoo.

For Sarah, love of animals is not just an obsession, but a driving force, and her work can attest that. Her motto is healing animals whenever it’s possible while always loving them. That’s one of the reasons why prevention plays such a major role at Wizoo. Preserving the special relationship between owner and their pet is one of Sarah’s top priorities.

DR. AHMED AMAR KHODJA, DMV

Dr. Ahmed Amar Khodja graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Blida (Algeria) in 1998. Immediately after obtaining his degree, he began his career practicing large animal medicine, including work with small ruminants and poultry, at his uncle’s veterinary clinic, where he gained valuable early experience under the guidance of a fellow veterinarian.

Shortly thereafter, he took charge of a German Shepherd kennel specializing in working dogs for government service. This experience sparked a deep passion for the breed, leading him to establish his own breeding and specialized training program dedicated to German Shepherds.

In 2010, driven by a desire to work more closely with companion animals and their families, Dr. Amar Khodja opened his own veterinary practice, focusing on dogs and cats. With over 17 years of experience in small animal medicine, he is known for his professionalism, empathy, and attentive approach.

A proud father of three boys, Dr. Amar Khodja is a man of heart—deeply passionate about large dogs and devoted to his family. His caring and compassionate nature has already won the trust and affection of many Wizoo clients.

Currently working under the supervision of Dr. Sarah Annie Guenette and in the process of completing his final accreditations with the Ordre des Médecins Vétérinaires du Québec, Dr. Ahmed offers consultations at all three Wizoo locations.

Did you know that you can relieve and eliminate your pet’s daily pain with this innovative new technique?

A treatment without surgery, without medication and non-intrusive allowing you to:

–          Reduce pain

–          Reduce inflammation

–          Accelerate healing

We like that!!!  🙂

How does it work?

Laser light is generated by a non-invasive handheld device that treats the affected area.  Your companion will then feel a gentle soothing warmth.  Treatments usually last only a few minutes.

You are « Thomas » and prefer the scientific version explaining all this, here it is:

Deep tissue laser treatment causes a biological response in the cells, called » photo-bio-stimulation « which results in reduced pain, reduced inflammation and accelerating healing.

Do you like the comfort of your home, your slippers, your Netflix series and you are allergic to traffic?  Telehealth is right for you!

In fact, we are the first in North America to offer telehealth!

What is it?

This is a consultation with your veterinary professional Wizoo, in the comfort of your own home.  Yes, it’s possible, we have reached that technology!

How does it work?

According to the regulations of the veterinary association, as soon as you have had a physical appointment with your professional Wizoo in the last year, you are eligible for telehealth.   It is therefore ideal for follow-ups, emergencies and advice with Taz in your arms, in your favorite chair!

Our video calling platform is very convenient, easy to use, suitable for everyone and works with your smart device and/or computer.

All you have to do now is choose the telehealth option at your next appointment!

Yes, it can change your life!

  • Most widespread and underestimated disease. It’s consequences are disastrous and it is insidiously settling in.
  • Physical exercise increases muscle strength and cardiopulmonary capacity but will have little effect on obesity.
  • Most affordable disease to treat! In fact, reducing the calories consumed will also reduce your food bill.
  • Calculating calories adjusted to your pet’s metabolic needs is the only effective way to control obesity.
  • If you are in doubt, have your animal’s BODY CONDITION assessed by a Wizoo certified animal health technician.
  • Nutrition is a specific university concentration and involves extensive academic studies to navigate through it.
  • Your human and veterinary doctors are not nutritionists but count several university hours in their academic studies on the subject.
  • Simple errors in the dosage of vitamins, minerals and supplements will have important and sometimes irreversible consequences on your pet’s health.
  • Corn is a fundamental ingredient in your dog’s nutrition. It is an important source of carnitine and taurine, which are essential for the proper functioning of the heart. A lack of any of these ingredients will lead to a deformity of the heart called dilated cardio-myopathy.
  • To choose a diet, look for scientific publications in animal nutrition journals often supported by universities.
  • A puppy is a baby who has been adopted. Keep in mind that he has just been separated from his mother and siblings. A certain level of anxiety is therefore normal.
  • The principles of education are always the same. Compassion and guidance. Establish your boundaries and respect them.
  • A dog can usually hold back for one hour per month of age. So a 3-month-old dog can, during the day, hold back for 3 hours and at night a little more.
  • The dodos are in the cage until the dog is clean.
  • Pee and poo outdoors are rewarded with an instant liver snack offered as soon as the dog goes.
  • Accident inside are to be ignored. You are the only ones guilty 😉
  • When your dog is house training, you must supervise him at all times when he is free in the house. If you can’t handle it, put it in its cage or tie it with its leash to your foot.
  • A dog that sniffs the ground insistently is looking for a place to relieve itself. Get him outside!!!
  • A cat comes with claws whether you like it or not.
  • You either keep the claws or you don’t have a cat.
  • If you want to save the family home from the destruction of your domestic tiger, you must be prepared to adjust the interior design.
  • The essentials: A cat tree that reaches the ceiling, cocooning tablets with hiding places, toys and claw carpets.
  • For cat tree and exercise ideas visit my Pinterest: Sarah Annie Guenette, Arbre à chat!
  • Feliway all the way!!!!! Put it all over your cat tree, claw mats and other places dedicated to Tigger.
  • Catnip spray. We like it and we overuse it!!!
  • Cut the claws with the small cat claw cutter from an early age. Tigger will get used to it.
  • Rex cats definitely have a unique and very endearing personality.
  • On the other hand, not having hair has consequences on your cat’s skin.
  • Rex cats accumulate brownish secretions, yeasts, all over their bodies. Teeth, ears, claws and their skin in general will need to be cleaned regularly.
  • Use a Malaceutic shampoo once a month and wipes once a week to cleanse skin and nails. Malaceutic ear cleaner can be used to clean the ears. A soft toothbrush and animal toothpaste will be essential for daily teeth brushing.
